There are a number of jobs that I've often thought I'd love to have. Mostly they're jobs that involve little if any physical labor with lots of money in return - the kind that everyone wants. Like doing voice-overs for television commercials or radio ads. I could do that! Or how about being a hand model? I would never have to worry about a few pounds here and there as long as my hands were kept well moisturized and manicured. And of course that would make it neessary to keep my hands away from dirty dishes and harsh cleaning fluids so I would have to hire someone to cook and clean for me. That would be a tax write-off, right? Heaven!

I used to dream of being a studio musician. I loved the idea of being able to sing for a living, enjoying my musical abilities without having to deal with the stress of live performance. I still like that idea.
I've also toyed with the thought of a career in television. I think I'd like Kelly Ripa's job, which involves getting to work about 8am, working for two hours, and then going home. And picking up a huge paycheck for my trouble. I think I could do that!
So how does one go about finding those jobs? I think if I could find one I could do it competently, but where, oh where, do I find one? I suppose there's a long line wherever it is....

Could you deal with Regis, though? Her paycheck isn't big enough for THAT job! ;-)
Are you kidding? I'm a HUGE Regis fan! I would practically pay them to do that job!
True story, A local high school principal told my sister this shortly before graduating in 1958.
"Get a job in a dress shop for a couple of years until you find a man to marry who will take care of you"
There is nothing wrong with that, but in this day and age, that advice wouldn't be the best to give a young woman nowadays. The take caring of you bit, sounds like the principal was referring to a pet animal!
My father told me practically the same thing. He said I didn't need to go to college because I would just get married and stay home anyway. Funny - I paid big time for that attitude! Times have changed though and my two girls both got degrees on college and careers of their own. I made sure of that...
Thats good to here that your children got their degrees. Oh, what happened to my sister? She actually got a good civil service job at the county center in Riverhead shortly after graduating. She stay exactly two years until her husband wanted he to be a stay at home mom for 5 children and she quit.
After the children had grown she returned to the work force and now receives a NY State pension for the years she worked at a local school. So it all turned out OK.
I'm glad by own mother was a stay at home mom. No telling the trouble I would have gotten into if she was not there after school.
I loved being a stay-at-home-mom but when the kids grew up and left it would have been nice to have something to fall back on. And had I known then what I know now civil service would have been on my radar! We get so much smarter as we get older...
